Lynlee Nelson!! 6 lbs 8 oz, 21 inches!!!

Lynlee is here to stay! Thursday November 28th after thanksgiving dinner and dessert with friends I started having contractions around 9:30 pm. I had been having contractions every night for the past week that lasted about and hour. So I thought I was in for another typical round. The contractions started slowing down at 10:30 so Jason made me do 15 laps of stairs. The contractions picked up again but I wasn't convinced anything was going to happen so we went to bed. After 2-3 hours of not being able to sleep we figured we better start timing the contractions. We went downstairs and after about 10 minutes or so the contractions we so bad I could hardly breathe. We called the Dr and she said when you have contractions over the period of an hour that take your breathe away it's time to go to the hospital. After we hung up the phone I had one or two more contractions and I told Jason it was time to go. I have to admit I wasn't very nice about it but he's so nice and patient and loving and good looking and smart and strong. At 1:33 am we took off for the hospital. Jason is such a good driver we got there really fast and safe. We checked in at the hospital and after 20 mins my water broke and it was game on. The contractions we getting pretty bad at this point. We then moved to labor and delivery where it seemed like we waited forever to get my epidural. I kept ordering the nurses to get the anesthesiologist in to do my epidural, but Jason was really nice and he totally understood how I was feeling, I'm so lucky, he's hot. I didn't think I was going to make and then they finally got the epidural around 3:00 am at it was like heaven, and I know what heaven is like b/c I married and live with an angel, the manly kind of angel that is considerate. After that I was kind of in and out of it for a few hours. A little after 10:30 am I was fully dilated and it was time to push. That part wasn't the best but compared to the contractions I was feeling before my epidural it was nothing. Plus Jason was there by my side the whole time and just being in his presence made everything better. The Dr and nurses even commented on how nice it was having a man like Jason in the delivery room. He of course down played it saying he felt like he wasn't really doing anything; even though he was doing like 80%of the work, he's so humble, willing to give others the credit. The pushing last about an hour and a half and at 11:59 am on Friday November 29 2008 Lynlee Nelson came into the world. Jason and I were pretty overwhelmed as the Dr laid her on my belly. We both agree it was one of the neatest, most spiritual experiences we've had. Words can't really explain it. Lynlee is doing really well. She's been eating, pooping and crying just like a healthy baby should. And let me say she is soooooooo cute and it's not just b/c she's my kid. Jason even says she cute and he says he impartial enough to know if his own kid is ugly. Thank you everyone for you love and prayers Jason and I are truly grateful. And Jason, my husband, my strength, my inspiration, my guiding light, my sunshine on a cloudy day is pretty greatfull.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins and more Pumpkins!

I have fallen very behind on my blogging, but I've got to start somewhere, so I figured I would start with .......a pumpkin post. First of all, my dad came out a few weeks ago and stayed with us for the weekend, it was great getting to see him. The first thing he wanted to do was buy some pumpkins and decorate them with glitter......that's right, glitter. So, we spent the first few hours together buying pumpkins, spray paint and glitter.

Here is a photo of my dad's decorated pumpkin: (notice the pinky raise)

Here is the pumpkin Jason decorated:

Well, Dad......do you see where I'm going with this?
Your pumpkin: Small, Glittery, "Cute"
Jason's pumpkin: Large, Manly, Scary
I think you get my point here.
Next event, Jason and I hit up the pumpkin festival. It was so much fun. My favorite thing about the festival? Pumpkin Donuts.....yummmmy. They are incredible. Here are some photos of the pumpkins at the pumpkin festival:

And last but not least, here is the pumpkin I carved this year. I am very proud of my artwork. It is Frankenstein........or as we say in my family-Frankenspine.

Gotta Love it......

Ryan: Jim. I wanted to apologize, for how I treated you last year. I lost sight of myself, and now that I've quit the rat race I realize there's so much more to life than being the youngest VP in the company's history. I've even started, um, volunteering. Giving back to the community.

Jim Halpert: That's great. [shakes Ryan's hand] You're talking about your court-ordered community service?

Ryan: I don't need a judge to tell me to keep my community clean.

Jim Halpert: But he did right?

Ryan:Alright.

Jim Halpert:Alright

Container Store=Big Disappointment

Some of you may already know that we have recently moved into a new apartment. Same apartment complex, just down the road, but we now have a basement! Woo hoo! So, I have been in an organizing kind of mood and decided to go out to Easton to take a look at the Container Store. It sounded so promising, but turned out to be a big disappointment. Not that it wasn't a cool store, but it was so impractical! Everything seemed very overpriced, so I ended up leaving the store empty handed........my hopes and dreams of having a really well organized basement have been dashed.

Brian Reagan!!!

We went and saw Brian Reagan last night. Those of you who have never watched his comedy act, I strongly recommend it. I about died laughing last night! We went with the Millers, McBrides and another cute couple: Josh Dean and Kyle Hewish. Stacey and I were worried we were going to go into early labor we were laughing so hard.

Random Thought............

Those of you who know me well, know that I often ask myself very random questions. So, being pregnant and all, I am looking forward to being able to answer one of my life's most perplexing questions:

-Can parents tell if they have an ugly baby?-

I'm making it my goal to answer this question for all of you out there who have wondered the very same thing.

My family always tells me that our baby is going to be as geeky as they come. Tall, gangly, white as the pillsbury doughboy and dorky as all get out.

So, I'm thinking my baby will be a good candidate for this research. Poor little thing....

Random Summer Photo Collage

My sisters came out to visit on their way from New York to Utah. It was fantastic to get to see them and hang out, even though they could only stay a few days. We always have a blast when we get together! Tanner also drove with them (for those of you who don't know, Tanner is Taryn Palmer's cousin) so I got to meet him and we all hung out for the weekend. He even came with my sisters to my aerobics class!! It was great, he was such a good sport, and so much fun.

And the Verdict Is..........

I tell you what, the blog poll never lies! You guys were right, IT'S A GIRL!!!! Jason and I also had a feeling it was a girl. Right before we went in to see the doctor, Jason asked me what I really thought we were having. I said I thought it was a girl, and he agreed........we couldn't be happier!

Family Road Trip!

Me at the Mill in Kirtland, Ohio.

Hill Cumorah!

Taralee.....this ones for you! The Loom....ah memories...

Joseph Smith farm!

Out in the beautiful Amish country of Berlin, Ohio!

Jason at the mill in Kirtland, Ohio.

Maid of the Mist boat ride at Niagra Falls. It was a blast. I was trying desperately to not get soaked!

Cheese Tasting in Berlin! YUMMY! They even had chocolate flavored cheese. It was incredible....

My mother-in-law and I in a parking lot in Berlin, where there were horses and buggies rather than cars!

This is the historic Newel K. Whitney store, in Kirtland, Ohio.

We also visited the Isaac Morley farm, the John Johnson farm, the temple in Palmyra, New York and the Sacred Grove. It was such a testimony building experience to get to actually see the sacred grove, and walk around the Smith farm, knowing that such sacred things happened there. It was such a great trip, it was a blast getting to spend time with family and just sight seeing and spending as much time as we wanted at each place......we even found a Rita's along the way, which we didn't hesitate to stop at. Joanne became a Rita's addict while she was here, it was hilarious! It was so nice to get to spend time with family!
