Are We Still Newlyweds?

When does the title "newlywed" expire? After you're married 2 years? 3 years, 4? Jason and I have been haunted by this title for too long...(Brian and Tiffany) Even when we first moved into our ward here in Arizona, we met with the bishop and one of the first things he says is, "You guys look like newlyweds....am I right?" We are past our 4 year mark, so can we be done already?

If this story doesn't qualify us as "non-newlyweds," I don't know what does.

Picture this. Jason and I are sitting in our room just chatting about our day, when all of a sudden Jason says, "We forgot something this week." My mind immediately scrambled...did I forget his birthday? No, that's September......did I forget an appointment? a holiday? Jason says, "well, I guess at least you didn't remember either..."

Yep, you guessed it. We both forgot our anniversary.

But hey, the good news is, we saved ourselves a lot of time, money.....and worry. Maybe we should forget our anniversary every year.

First Day of School Picture

Jason insisted that we go outside and find a tree so that we could take a "first day of school" (or in his case, first day of work) picture. I told him to smile, and he insisted he couldn't.......it's tradition.

Apparently growing up, Jason's mom always took a "first day of school" picture, and there always had to be a tree in the background. Also, he was never smiling because he was always mad that his mom made him stand there until she got a good one.

So............this one's for you Joann!

Kitchen and Living Room Pics

Jason and I are loving having a home. It has been so much fun to start decorating......

......If only we could afford to buy furniture for any of the other rooms in our house.....

That's Just Peachy....

We are in the process of remodeling Jason's dental office, which was last decorated probably in the 50's (and that's being generous). We are repainting and putting new flooring in, and redoing the bathroom and the operatories. We picked out the paint the other day. On the swatch it was a light brown, on the walls, it is peach. Yes. Peach. Why oh why does paint have to be so difficult? The worst of it is, we are in a big hurry to get it all done because the office opens back up on monday so we just have to go with it. We have to go with the peach. Goo.....

I wish we had taken some "before" pictures, but we forgot to, but I'll be sure and post some when its all finished. Wish us luck.
