It's a Good Day....

You know how some days you just wake up feeling really great? Today has been one of those days...not for any particular reason....I mean, it could be because I started out the day with a morning jog, or maybe its because my favorite pre-pregnancy jeans fit again, or because its sunny and warm outside and I fully plan on sitting outside and trying to tan....but whatever it is, I figured I would celebrate by posting some of my latest favorite Lynlee photos:

Look at those chubby little cheeks....doesn't it just make you wanna pinch 'em? She giggles all the time now, and it just melts my heart.

Here she is with one of her many little boyfriends Kayson. We're trying to teach her to play hard to get. I figure I'll start early......

Close Up......

Timber.........

"Okay, Mom. I'm getting sick of this..."

Any Suggestions??

So, my latest addiction is reading. I go through phases where I really get into reading, and then other times when I just don't feel like it. Lately its been nice to just cozy up on the couch while its raining outside and Lynlee is asleep, and just read. I have a bad habit of reading 2 or 3 books at a time, I just sit down with the stack and if I get bored with one, I switch it up and go to the next..... But I've just finished a few of the books, and I need to start some new ones. Anybody have any books they've read recently and really enjoyed?

Trip to New York Continued......

So, I stole these pictures from my sister Bonnie's Facebook page because they are absolutely adorable, and I didn't take enough photos myself.....typical.

These are from our trip to New York, where we got to see my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. My sister happens to be living out there at the moment as well. It was so much fun to get to see Bonnie interact with Lynlee, she makes such a cute Auntie!

Ah....isn't my sister just adorable??

Bonnie got a little freaked out by the poopy diapers, but that might just take some time...

The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Yes, this is in fact how Aaron Olson refers to my dad. He is a Paleontologist, or as some may say, a Dinosaur Hunter. Aaron has mentioned multiple times that his ideal life would be walking through the deserts with a metal detector in search of Dinosaur bones.

We took "The Man, the Myth, the Legend" to a football game while he was here.

Here is how our conversation went:

Me: Hey Dad, do you have any idea what the score is?
Dad: huh? Oh! Sorry, I was just checking out the architecture on this stadium....pretty cool stuff, huh?
Me: Sure Dad, sure.....

Me: Dad, you doin' alright over there?
Dad: huh? Oh yeah, fine. Just a little bored...this football stuff can really drag out for a long time, can't it?
Me: Dad, it's only been 30 minutes....

To be fair, the game was a little boring, but you get the point. Let's just say, he's not much of a Sportscenter addict.

Here is a link to his most recent endeavor. He titled this article "Adam's Footprints" just to get the creationists all worked up.

Because I Know Lynlee is All You Really Care About...................

Despite the fact that Lynlee is adorable, I especially love Jason's midriff.........

Bath Time! I absolutely love bath time with Lynlee, isn't it interesting how once you become a mother even the simplest things bring such gratification?

Just chillin' on the couch.....

This is a flashback of Lynlee the day we brought her home.......she's already so much bigger!

New York City in a Flash

Here we are on the 2 hour train ride into the city:

This is as close as we got to the Statue of Liberty....if you squint you might be able to make out the shape:

Ahh...the very flashy lights and large billboards of Time Square:

Even though we didn't ride the ferry, we figured we needed to get the classic "Staten-Island-Ferry" picture:

We rode to the top of the Empire State Building (a 2 hour endeavor), and spent probably five minutes at the top actually looking around:

The Empire State Building:

So that is a quick summary of our hurried trip through New York City. Here are my thoughts on the "City that Never Sleeps": While it is a place everyone should visit in their lifetime, I find nothing exceptionally appealing about running through the city stumbling the whole way because you are trying to read a map to figure out where you are compared to where you want to be, waiting in line for 2 hrs to do anything or eat anything, trying to figure out the subway system on your own because heaven forbid a New Yorker be kind enough to tell you which direction you are headed, all the while breathing in the very disgustingly strange smells that pollute the air.

Despite all that, there is something very intriguing about being in a city where so much is always happening. The people are fascinating, and I couldn't help but glance around on the subway and wonder what each person is doing in such a big city.
