Hangin' with Mr. Cooper!
I just can't get enough of my little Cooper! These pictures were taken by my sister in law again, she is such an amazing photographer! Her blog is jennettejenkins.blogspot.com, if you want to check out her stuff. Life with little Cooper has been so much fun, its amazing to have a little newborn in our home again, it is such a blessing. These little babies are just so fun to have around. He now weighs 7 lbs 4 oz, so he's starting to grow! I want him to stay this little for as long as possible because he is just so sweet and cuddly!

Birth Story!
Cooper Lee Nelson was born May 30th, 2012. He weighed 6 lbs 14 oz, and was 20 inches long. Hooray!! He's finally here! He came 5 days early even, which was quite nice of him. He is named after my Grandpa Cooper (we call him Coop!) and Jason's Grandpa Lee. Both of whom we love and admire! The last month of this pregnancy was quite the adventure, between the stomach flu and having to get hooked up to an IV, to terrible back pain that seemed like it would never end......The little man is here and we couldn't be happier!
As far as the labor goes, it took about half the time Lynlee's labor did, and I must say, went pretty smooth. Don't get me wrong, I was still that crazy lady down the hall screaming "I want my epidural!!" But, that only lasted an hour or two.....I started feeling contractions at about 7am that morning (what a weird time to start going into labor right? I thought you usually start contracting in the late hours of the night....) which was quite convenient because I got up, got showered and figured I would time my contractions as I got ready...They were about 5 minutes apart from the start, so there wasn't any question about whether or not it was going to happen that day. I decided to call Jason's office at around 8, to let him know today is the day! It was hilarious because the night before we were sitting on the couch after scriptures and I asked Jason.."What would be the most inconvenient time for me to go in to labor?" We both agreed the most inconvenient time would be that night. But as Jason kissed me goodbye in the morning at around 6:30, I figured we had made it free and clear and I would have another day with no baby arriving. Lo and behold, I sit up in bed at 7, and the first contraction I felt was a pretty strong one and I thought, seriously?? I drove over to Jennette's house to drop off Lynlee and Jennette ended up driving me to the hospital. Jason works about 40 minutes away and I didn't want to have to wait for him to drive all the way home and then all the way to the hospital...which is about a 30 minute drive. So, off Jennette and I went. My contractions were getting pretty close, and I tell you what, the pain was not so fun. I seriously have no idea how anyone can go natural. Honest to goodness, I could never in a million years. If I had been born before the epidural, I would've probably had one baby and never would've tried it again. No way. But that's another conversation. Jennette and I got to the hospital around 9 and Jason came a few minutes later. I had to stay and get monitored for a little while, but my contractions were less than five minutes apart so they took us up to labor and delivery. This is where the screaming began, and I'll spare you the details, but let's just say, it was torture. Not to be dramatic or anything. But I tell you what, once that epidural came I was in heaven. Epidurals have got to be the best invention EVER. I mean it. Above the telephone, computers, internet you name it. Epidurals beat them all. I was grinning from ear to ear as soon as the meds hit. Not a better feeling in the world. I progressed nice and quick, and with no help from any other medicine I was fully progressed by 1 pm. I pushed for about 20 minutes, and there he was! My little Cooper was born at 1:28 pm!!
Lynlee has handled everything really well. She loves holding her little brother. She loves changing his diaper, and giving him kisses. I must say, I was pretty worried about her and what the transition would be like, but it really hasn't phased her yet. She has been a huge help, and is as sweet as ever! Anyway, here are pictures from the big day! Enjoy!

Lynlee's dance recital
First of all, let me just say, I didn't put Lynlee in this pose. She just does these things on her own. Lynlee had her second dance recital a few weeks ago, and once again she was the star performer! She is not afraid at all to get up on that stage and perform. She just loves dancing! Some day, when I can figure out how to upload videos to blogger, I will show her little dance recitals. But until then, pictures will have to do!

Pregnancy Story
So, I have in fact had my little baby, but I'm so behind in blogging I figured I would first start with my pregnancy story. First of all, this pregnancy was night and day easier than my first. The first trimester went by with no nausea or vomiting, which was miraculous. It was so nice to be able to just teach my classes and work out like normal. I felt really great. I figured because I was feeling so great it had to be a boy, so I wasn't super surprised to hear the results of the ultrasound. We were so excited to hear we were having a boy, Jason desperately needs another man around the house. Plus, I was always worried I would be in the same predicament as my parents, and have a bunch of girls in a row, and have to wonder if I would ever get to have a boy. But from here on out, it won't matter to me. I got one of each on my first two tries! It's interesting because with all of Jason's siblings, every single one of them had a girl first, then a boy, then a girl. SO, we will see if I can keep up the trend.
I felt like my appetite was so much easier to control with this pregnancy too. With Lynlee, it was all I could do to just survive, so I ate anything and everything I could keep down. This time, I was able to eat pretty normal both what I was eating and how much. I taught kickboxing and barbell through my pregnancy up until the last couple weeks. I took cycling and total conditioning classes bright and early in the mornings with my sister in law too, and I really just felt great up until the last month or so.
I was taking my morning cycle class, when in the middle of the class I felt a sharp pain in the middle of my back, so I left class early and pretty much cried all the way home. For the next few weeks I was flat on my back, I don't know if I tweaked something in my back, or if it was the position of the baby, or if it was all because of my back surgery....but my OB said it was probably because of the fact that my lower vertebrae are fused, so my low back has no flexibility, which your back needs to have when you are pregnant because your body is changing so much, so the pain in my mid back was probably a result of my lower back not being able to compensate for the inflexibility of my low back. Whatever it was, it really really hurt. I started seeing a chiropractor, and tried getting massages, and of course a priesthood blessing. I was able to be functional again about two weeks after the initial incident. And thank goodness because I was about ready to give up. It was a little rough I'm not going to lie, but my family was so helpful and supportive and all my friends brought me meal after meal and watched Lynlee for hours....it was so amazing, and I am so grateful for all the help. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends to surround myself with. I felt so humbled by all the service and so grateful to my family for all the prayers said on my behalf. It was such a testimony builder to me, and even now just thinking about it gets me all choked up. (either that or the serious hormones I've got raging through my body at this point....)
So, my back started feeling much better, and my dad and my sister Ariel came out to visit me. They came and did all the housework and yardwork and you name it. I made my dad a list (the name of the list must not be mentioned), but needless to say it was a list of things I wanted to do before the baby came. And lo and behold, my dad crossed every single thing off my list and by the time they left, I finally felt ready for the baby. In fact, so ready that the day after they left, I went in to labor......!
Story and pics to follow.....

Baby Shower!
First of all, I have the best friends in the world. I had told everyone I didn't need a shower, but that I thought it would be fun to just get together for a lunch on a saturday and just hang out. My friend Leanne was incredible, and organized the whole thing and sent out invitations and put the whole thing together. Those of you who know Leanne know that she doesn't do anything halfway, so of course when I got to Carrabas for the lunch, there were decorations and balloons and everyone had brought a gift! Everyone was so generous and thoughtful, and I am just so grateful for such amazing friends!
Here's the whole clan!!
My friend Jenny is super crafty, so everything was done up super cute.
Megan Barney and Jenny Boyle
Mary Plumb, Marlane Hill and Michelle Tucker
Jenny Taylor, Alecia Adamson and Kim Paraboschi
And here you have one of the only pregnancy pictures I have of myself this whole pregnancy!! This ones for you Celeste! Enjoy.
